| V0406 | PE-ACCOMMODATE PT PRIVACY CFR(s): 494.60(c)(3) The dialysis facility must make accommodations to provide for patient privacy when patients are examined or treated and body exposure is required. This STANDARD is not met as evidenced by: Based on observation and staff interview, it was determined that the facility failed to provide privacy to 12 of 12 Patients (P), (P#1 - P#12), who were receiving hemodialysis (HD) treatments at the time of this observation. This deficient practice had the potential of violating the privacy of all 39 patients that dialyze at this facility. During a tour of the facility on 3/19/19 at 10:30 a.m., the following was observed: The glass entrance door to the patients' treatment room allowed direct viewing of patients who were undergoing HD treatment by any person in the lobby. This was a violation of patient's rights to have privacy during their dialysis treatment. The window blinds behind window #5, was open, allowing any person outside of the facility to view patients inside the treatment room. The Facility Administrator was notified of this observation on 3/19/19 at 10:40 a.m., and she stated that the entrance door needed to be fixed so people at the lobby could not view patients who were dialyzing in the patients' treatment room. |
